Why donate to Ads Up Canada?
Since our start in 2019…
We have recruited and trained nearly 200 volunteers across Canada to form the settlement teams that welcome and support Manus and Nauru refugees.
We have served as the Constituent Group on 33 refugee applications through Operation #NotForgotten.
We have worked tirelessly to raise awareness of Australian offshore processing and the Canadian sponsorship solution in Canada, Australia and internationally.
Without funding, we are unable to submit additional sponsorship applications for refugees who are waiting and we won’t be able to recruit and support settlement teams.
For those who have been detained for more than 8 years on Manus, Nauru and onshore in Australia, the situation only continues to deteriorate. For applicants, Operation #NotForgotten is their only chance at resettlement and safety.
How will my donation be used?
All funds raised will be used for refugee sponsorships and our minimal operating costs.
Ads Up Canada does not keep any of the funds raised for sponsorships. 100% of sponsorship funds raised are transferred to and held in trust by our partner, MOSAIC, and disbursed to refugees once they arrive. Those funds are used to support newcomers during their first year in Canada.
As a grassroots organization, our operating costs are minimal but necessary. We have one dedicated staff member, our Refugee Sponsorship Coordinator, and the rest of our work to develop comprehensive refugee resettlement support is done by volunteers.
